Our mission is to develop confident athletes, resilient leaders, and connected communities through the power of sport. While basketball is our primary vehicle, our purpose extends far beyond the game. Every workout, clinic, and leadership session is designed to help young people build confidence, strengthen character, and develop skills that will serve them in athletics, school, careers, and life.
We believe the best coaches don't simply teach skills—they develop people.
That's why every Play It Smart experience combines technical instruction with leadership, communication, resilience, decision-making, and confidence. Whether an athlete is attending a skills academy, participating in a Basketball IQ & Confidence Masterclass, or receiving one-on-one coaching, our goal is to help them become not only a better player, but a better teammate and leader.
Founded by Coach Kailey Boyd, Play It Smart was built on the belief that education and athletics belong together. Today, that vision continues to grow through individual training, small group academies, leadership programming, community partnerships, and international service initiatives that use sport to create meaningful opportunities for girls and young women.
As we continue to grow, our commitment remains the same: to create environments where athletes are challenged, encouraged, and inspired to reach their full potential—both on and off the court.
Every workout, every conversation, and every community initiative is designed to help girls develop confidence, leadership, and resilience that extends far beyond the court.
